Fort Pickens RoadThe road to Fort Pickens from Pensacola Beach may be closed but you can still see the park and the Fort too using the overland shuttle. The shuttle appears to be the best kept secret on Pensacola Beach.

Polaris Ranger Shuttle This is a great way for tourists, picnickers, divers, fishermen and weekend hikers to quickly and easily make the 7 mile trek out to Fort Pickens , at the West end of Santa Rosa Island.

The actual vehicle is a Polaris Ranger Crew, a six passenger ATV. Just what you need to navigate the post hurricane Ivan and Dennis broken asphalt and sand en route to your destination.

You pay for and load up at the gate at the west end of Fort Pickens Road. Beach Bun and Dawgs sells refreshments and food including; BBQ, Italian Sausage sandwiches, hot dogs and hamburgers. Other snacks are available too. If you call ahead they will fix a bagged lunch for your trip.

Cost, Roundtrip: Reservations are strongly recommended.

  • $15 for adults
  • $10 for children under 12 (Children must be accompanied by parents)
  • $5 charge added to Group round trip for addition gear
  • $10 charge added to each diver for equipment

When: Seven days a week 8:00AM to 2:00PM going to Fort Pickens.
Last shuttle in at 2:00PM - Last shuttle out at 5:00pm
