This schools is named in honor of Miss Hellen Caro. She taught at Pleasant Grove Elementary for 44 years. Miss Caro began her career in 1930 and evolved from teaching fifth and sixth graders. to assumed the dual responsibilities of principal and eighth grade teacher. She prepare her students for higher education and endeared herself to them by showing personal interest in their personal lives. Miss Caro was Pleasant Grove's principal for 38 years, retiring in 1974.
