Bay Oaks is an older community off Scenic Hwy in Pensacola FL, originally developed in the early 1970's. Homes vary widely in age in Bay Oaks, however. You may see several built in 1971-1973, and others constructed as recently as 2006. The streets have very mature live oaks that are draped in moss, giving it a feeling of Charleston, although the houses are most often one-story. Think of the ambiance of old south luxury in brick.

These custom built homes are set on very large lots, from a half-acre or more. You don't find a house with that much land in Florida very often. Home sizes range from 2,300 to just shy of 3,100 sq ft, with prices from $300,000-450,000 or thereabouts for three and four bedrooms. Many of them have mother-in-law or guest suites, and just about all have private pools. Each home is unique with its own character in this neighborhood.

All communities along Scenic Highway are at a premium, and Bay Oaks is no exception. Everything Pensacola offers is convenient from this highway at some point, and the waters of Pensacola Bay are so close that some homes have views of it if they have a second level.
